Our History

In October of 2016, Grants Pass Toyota was established and opened for business. The store was purchased from the Wheeler Family. Wheeler Toyota was the first original store in the state of Oregon. As Grants Pass Toyota, our goal has been to be an industry leader in providing unmatched quality automotive products and services while continually striving to meet the changing needs of our guests. We implemented the ‘Best Price Philosophy’, which means no haggle and no hassle, in order to provide a more relaxed, honest, and enjoyable car buying experience. It is our mission to exceed our customers’ and employees’ expectations, maintaining their loyalty for a lifetime. We recognize the greatest resource we have is our employees and we never take that for granted. We strive to fill open positions within our ranks first, creating career paths for many of our employees regardless of where they start in our company.

We are very proud of our culture which largely comes from being a part of the Rydell Auto Group. The Rydell Auto Group was founded in 1954 and has grown into a group of 85 stores in 17 states! Our Founder, Leonard Rydell, had many strongly held business and personal philosophies that served him well. These philosophies, known as “Leonardism’s”, help guide us through our daily business and personal decisions. Some of our favorite “Leonardism’s” are…

Brad Myerchin

Owner

Brad Myerchin, General Manager of Grants Pass Toyota, has been in the car business since 2003. He started with the Rydell Company back in Minot, ND with the Minot Automotive Center. He started off a sales consultant then moved to many other positions on the sales side of the business with Minot Automotive Center. He took over as General Manager in 2011. In October, 2016, he and his family along with the Rydell Company had the opportunity to move to Grants Pass and start Grants Pass Toyota. He has been incredibly lucky to have such a great group of team members at Grants Pass Toyota. In October of 2016, we started with 42 employees and have moved to 75 employees as of June 2019. He believes strongly in the Rydell philosophy, “there is nothing of greater value than our people.” Brad and his team have been recognized as a Toyota President Award winners for the two years that they have been Grants Pass Toyota.

AJ Jordan

Parts Department

AJ was hired around January 2018. He started off as our wholesale delivery driver. He is now working our customer and employee parts counter position and learning all about the parts department. Here’s what AJ had to say about working at Grants Pass Toyota: “Very seldom do I find a work environment that’s as employee focused as we are here at Grants Pass Toyota. From my experience, if you focus your corporate attention to your employee’s needs, that same care and concern flows onto the customer. A positive work environment goes a long way and Grants Pass Toyota has set the bar high and continues to find new ways to increase the value that it instills in its employees as well as their customers. I am proud to say that I am apart of the Grants Pass Toyota family.”

Brenda Nelson

Business Office

Brenda has worked for both Wheeler Toyota and Grants Pass Toyota for the last 4 years. She is a great asset to the store and is learning all the different office account positions at the store. Here’s what Brenda had to say about working at Grants Pass Toyota: “I can honestly say that coming to work at Grants Pass Toyota puts a smile on my face every day. Greeting coworkers on my way in sets the mood, and since everyone is friendly, it is always a good one! In the four years I have worked with the team in the business office, I have learned skills that complement my education and allow me to be efficient in my position as Assistant Accountant. I completed my Bachelor’s degree while working full time and the supervisor was happy to adjust the schedule to suit my educational needs. I am also proud of Grants Pass Toyota for our level of community involvement with donations and participation in local events as a company, as well as the willingness of employees to support each other and other employees’ children whenever school fundraisers come around. Grants Pass Toyota makes me feel valued, both as an employee and as an individual. I can’t think of a better company to work for.”
