Building a Legacy

Lunde Auto Center is focused on the concept of building a team of motivated individuals to create a unique dealership experience for our customers. In each department of the dealership, we strive to produce a work environment that each employee can feel proud to be apart of. We feel investing in our employees and our business processes make customer feels like part of our family.

One of the areas that we as a dealership find employee success in is by creating opportunity for advancement within and beyond our dealership. Lunde Auto Center is part of The Rydell Company, but is locally owned by Andy Boen. Andy believes that we should build and train our staff to become so successful in their roles that they become not only a vital asset to the continued growth of the dealership, but also The Rydell Company. Currently, Lunde Auto Center has 19 staff members that have been employed for 15 years or more. We have also had several employees move on to manage other stores and start their own dealerships within The Rydell Company.

We find success with our customers by providing well trained sales and service staff in a relaxed environment. To our current and future customers, we thank you for allowing us to continue to provide opportunity for our team, our community, and our legacy.

Our History

Lunde Auto Center was established in 1987 by Dennis Lunde. After several years of ownership, Dennis sold the Dealership to Andy Boen in 2003. Andy has been focused on the continuing success of Lunde Auto Center by being a market leader with a strong culture based on the Rydell Groups philosophy, “To be so effective we are able to be helpful to others.” This places a huge emphasis on customer enthusiasm and employee satisfaction. Andy has partnered with the Rydell Company because he shares the same vision, philosophies and values.

When Andy first bought Lunde Auto Center it consisted of Lincoln, Mercury, Jeep, Mazda, and Saturn. Mercury and Saturn were eventually dissolved by their parent companies, and Jeep was partnered up with Dodge. After no longer having 3 of the 5 companies Lunde Auto Center consisted of Andy realized he had to do something to keep Lunde Auto center open and all of the employees employed. That’s when Andy purchased the Kia Dealership from another dealer in 2010. Not only was he able to keep his own employees but was able to retain the majority of the employees from the new store he purchased. Most of those employees still work at Lunde Auto Center / Kia of Fargo or for one of the other Rydell company stores today.

Lunde Auto Center isn’t just a dealership where you come to buy a car. I have been with the sales team for 4 years and it has become a home for me, not just a job I wake up and go to every morning. The family orientation not only makes me feel like a member of the family, but we strive everyday to make sure our guests feel like part of the family as well. Together, we make sure the experience at Lunde Auto Center is like no other.

Joe Tweed

General Sales Manager

I am Joe Tweed, the GSM at Lunde Auto Center. I started here in September of 2000 as a Sales Consultant. Throughout my career here, I have also worked in Internet Sales, the Finance Department, and was the new Mazda Manager. A few years back, i was moved over to the Kia of Fargo store to help run that and was recently promoted to the GSM helping to oversee things at both dealerships. The main reason I continue to work with Lunde Auto Center is the fun atmosphere and the opportunity to grow.

Alex Boen

General Manager

My name is Alex Boen, and my involvement with Lunde Auto Center goes all the way back to 1987 when my Father, Andrew Boen moved our family from the Crookston MN. area to Fargo to work at Lundes. I have been around the dealership since the age of 5 and have had the incredible opportunity to see the growth of our people and our business over the last three decades. We are proud to offer a fun and rewarding place to work with abundant employee opportunity to advance your career. We strive to build strong customer and employee relationships that will last a lifetime. My favorite part of my job as General Manager is getting to enjoy the responsibility of developing a fun, engaging place to work and grow.

Adam Berg

New Car Manager at Kia of Fargo

I am Adam Berg, the new Car Manager at Kia of Fargo. My wife (Leah), kids (Camden & Charlie) and I live in West Fargo about 10 minutes from the dealership. When I’m not at work, I’m spending time with my family. We love to take trips to different water parks or just playing around out in the yard. We also spend some time in Arizona where Leah’s parents live. I started working here in 2003, that was a long time ago, but it has gone by rather quickly. My journey here started as a Sales Consultant in the used car department. It didn’t take me long to figure out that I liked working here, and in a good way, which wasn’t what I expected. I found myself in not just a job, but a career with a group of people that felt more like family than co-workers, and relationships and positions evolved from there. I then started to sell new cars out of the Saturn building, and learned a lot and had fun doing it. As my path continued, I had been granted many opportunities to be a bigger part of the company and take on different roles with more responsibility. I started learning the ropes as a backup business manager on the financial side of the business. After doing that for a while, I learned the accounting side and the process of what happens after the sale. As of 2013, I have been a Sales Manager at the Kia Store. Working here, I have had the opportunity to do a lot of different things, see the car business from different angles and grow as an employee and an individual.

Ethan Smith

Business Manager at Lunde Auto Center

My name is Ethan Smith and I am the business manager at Lunde Auto Center. I was born and raised in Fargo, ND where I graduated High School in 2013. My background is in retail sales where over the course of 6 years, I was able to work my way up from being a cashier and maintenance clerk to eventually being in a management position. However, when I found out that the retail store I was working for was being sold and would no longer be family owned, it was time for some change. Fast forward to 2016, I started my career at Lunde as a Sales Consultant in the Automotive Business looking to find a career I could grow with and enjoy the culture of a family owned business again. I spent a little over two years selling vehicles before getting the opportunity to further my career in the Finance Department, which is where my current position is. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, golfing, working on cars and traveling. The part of my job I enjoy the most is the customers that i get to meet and know on a personal level, as well as the great team I get to work with everyday.
