Our History

With the opening of his very first store in 1987, President, Jim McManes fashioned a culture where people come first. This is still evident in all of his 20 stores across Canada today, including South Trail Chrysler. We promote professional and personal development and we really strive to hire from within. We have many staff members that have been with the company for a long time and many are now in management positions. We strive to be number one and really push results but of course we promote having fun at work at the same time! In a nutshell, we like to have fun, both with our staff members and their families. We host many functions such as Adult & Children Christmas Parties, Golf tournaments, BBQs, comedy nights and bowling nights. We value loyalty and support our staff in any way we can!

“February 1st 2016, was a big day in my life. Not only was it the first day that South Trail Chrysler opened its doors to the public but it was also the beginning of my career as an Automotive Sales Executive. Prior to that day I was a Welder with the International Brotherhood Of Boilermakers and, was dedicating weeks at a time away from my family and friends to work up north in the oil patch in order to pay the bills. The management team here at South trail Chrysler did an amazing job teaching me the ropes and it wasn’t long before I was well on my way to success. Fast forward 20 months to present day and I am now proud to say that I have never been happier in my life, as a result of my decision to join the team at South trail Chrysler and the McManes Group. Here we are a family, we find joy in seeing customers come through door unsure of what they want and leaving with the vehicle of their dreams. “Prior to working at South Trail Chrysler I was on maternity leave and attending school to obtain my Oil and Gas Administration Diploma. South Trail Chrysler officially opened February 1, 2016 and I started my first day as the night time receptionist. At the end of April 2016 I received the news of being offered the Full-time Used Vehicle Receptionist position. In my very first interview I stated to that my ultimate goal was for one day to be working in the accounting office. August 15, 2016 I was offered the Accounts Payable position in the Accounting office and after only a short 8 months I was offered the position of Used Vehicle Deal Clerk. I was a bit skeptical about the position because I really enjoyed my role as Accounts Payable but it ended up working out great and I loved my new position! I was a Used Vehicle Deal Clerk for only a short month until the New Vehicle Deal Clerk position became available. I am currently a New Vehicle Accountant at South Trail Chrysler and I love my job! I really appreciate that management at South Trail Chrysler listens to you. I have had so many opportunities and experiences here just because I spoke up and communicated what I want in life. I have never worked for a company that I have had so much progress with. I think that is what I like the most about working here, oh and the people are pretty awesome too!”
