About Us

Ed Staub & Sons Petroleum, Inc.’s beginning goes back to 1952 when Walt Staub became a wholesale distributor for Standard Oil Company of California in Bieber. Ed Staub worked for his father and became the wholesale distributor in Alturas California in 1959. Ed Staub & Sons expanded as Ed Staub’s children grew up and were able to help run plants in new areas where they carried Ed’s love of his customers and employees to new regions.

With the geographic growth came growth into new products. The company expanded into Cardlock, Propane, and HVAC.

With the expansion into Tulelake, California in 1988 came our first convenience store in Merrill, Oregon. The convenience store division saw the addition of nine stores in the 1990s. In 1995 our propane business was greatly expanded with the start-up of a propane plant in Redmond, Oregon

Today most of our growth is in propane, fuel management systems, convenience stores, and our dealer division. We serve communities in Northern California, all of Oregon, Southern Washington, and Western Idaho. We enjoy seeing the excitement in our teams as we continue to grow, adapt, and conquer our markets. Keeping up to date with technologies for ourselves and our customers has allowed us to continue to provide the best service possible which our customers have come to expect.
