About Crews Subaru of Charleston

Building a Legacy

Crews Subaru of Charleston is now in its 14th year. Prior to Subaru, we had a Saturn dealership and were the top retailer on the East Coast. We excelled at selling and servicing a niche product. At that time, most of our management team had already been together for 15 years in Charleston.

The Subaru franchise in Charleston had gone through four operators over the past 11 years and had received little to no recognition. We were awarded the Subaru franchise just as GM was going through bankruptcy, eventually shutting down Saturn. After a year with just one brand, we were able to acquire the Chevrolet store right next store to us. Because of our success with Saturn, GM wanted our team to be with them.

Our core values are simple: Take care of our people. Take care of our customers. Make our community better every day. Robert Crews, our owner, has always done this. Joining Subaru gave us a name for it, channeled our efforts and offered up incredible support. We were already living the Subaru Love Promise – it is in our DNA.

In 2021, Crews Subaru of Charleston earned the National Subaru Love Promise Retailer of the Year Award – Subaru’s highest honor awarded to only one of the 630
retailers in the Subaru family. Continually winning the Gold Award for Customer and Community Commitment – a feat reached by only 51 Subaru retailers.

Locally, Crews Subaru of Charleston has been named Charleston’s Choice as the “Best Place to Buy an Import” for 3 of the last 5 years, beating out every Import dealer – regular and highline as well. This survey is done by the region’s largest paper, the Post & Courier. For the last 2 years, we have been awarded the same accolade for Summerville.

Partners With Our Community

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston is one of our major charity partners and they provide housing for families with children critically ill in the world
renowned MUSC Children’s Hospital.

We believe in the Ronald McDonald House because they give, expecting nothing in return. RMHC provides for the needs of the families – room, shower, food, laundry facilities and more. Other families in the house can share their journey and ease the pain just a bit.

How do you measure the success? It is simply seeing the smiles. The thrill of families finally going home. It is knowing in your heart by helping, volunteering, and being there for them has made their world better.
