JJE presented The Heart & Stroke Foundation (HASF) with just over $7,000. Since 1952, the HASF has invested over $1.45 billion in life saving research.
JJE presented the Seasons Centre for Grieving Children with $6275! The Seasons Centre for Grieving Children provides peer to peer support programs, in a safe home-like atmosphere for children, teens and their families grieving the death or life-threatening illness of a loved one.
JJE presented The Women and Children’s Shelter of Barrie, with $10,000! The Women & Children’s Shelter is committed to providing quality programs and services to women in Simcoe County who are survivors of gender-based abuse and violence. Thank you to all who have generously supported this wonderful organization.
JJE is proud to partner with Bear Creek Secondary School through our co-op program and through the donation of an annual student scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to a student, or multiple students who achieve excellence in the Skilled Trades program, with an emphasis on those focused on a career in Heavy Equipment. Recipients are students who demonstrate a commitment to achieving strong grades and who take initiative to develop themselves academically. The intention of the scholarship is to support the costs associated with post-secondary education within the Skilled Trades field such as Tuition, Tools or IT equipment. Through this partnership and scholarship, our goal is to support the future Skilled Trades community and workforce in our region.
Each year, a charity that is of significance to a JJE employee is selected as the year’s Charity of Choice. Together, JJE rallies to raise funds through various events that are donated to the selected Charity of Choice. In the last three years alone, we have raised more than $25,000 through our fundraising efforts for charities including Ronald McDonald House Toronto, The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, The David Busby Centre, Habitat for Humanity and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.
