“As a kid, no one usually says “I want to be a car salesperson when I grow up”. When I first started selling cars at Honda City, I had a short-term goal of developing skills that I would be able to take anywhere. The Schlossmann’s team saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself and they pushed me to think bigger. I was given a platform to grow and what I thought would be a temporary stepping stone turned into a career. In the 16 years since becoming a sales associate I have been given the opportunities to take on the challenges of being a sales assistant, a finance manager, a sales manager, and now currently finance director.”
“Previously employed as a custodian, I had the opportunity to join the Schlossmann Team 4 years ago. Two things for me that stand out working here, are the ability to work in an environment that encourages success and being able to enjoy a family owned atmosphere that cultivates relationships with not only customers but also my co-workers. I appreciate being able to actually converse with the owners and management staff where I feel my input is welcomed and respected. I was able to achieve Winners Circle status in my first year and have seen growth year over year. This has been a wonderful opportunity for myself and my family.”
“When I was 13, my dad told me I could have a beer if I did the tire rotation on his ‘03 Saab. As I pulled off what I thought was a lug nut, was actually a lug stud; something I had never seen. I suppose you could say a simple lug stud is the reason I am where I am today. I never got that beer, but I did begin to research the mechanics of European, Asian, and American made cars. The start of my career at Honda City was quitting my job as a server at age 15. I didn’t see myself doing that in the future. I wanted more. 3 Automotive classes in High School and several applications to local dealerships, I landed at none other than Honda City during my senior year. In 2018 I was 1 of 4 students who graduated with a college degree in Automotive Maintenance. I have trained in multiple job roles since starting during my senior year. From Greeter to Express Technician, Shuttle Drives, Filing, Lot Attendant and Prep, and finally New Car Pre Delivery Inspections. Working for Honda City has done more for me than just working on cars. I’ve worked multiple auto shows, run the Women’s New Owner Clinic, and even brought the Honda Passport to my sister’s high school car show in Jefferson. I’ve worked on thousands of cars over these past 4 years at Honda City, and the number continues to go up every day. Over the next few years, I see myself working for this company that gave me the opportunity to shine. My end goal is to teach a High School Automotive class, specializing in Honda mechanics.”
