Topa Insurance Company is one of the wholly owned subsidiaries of Topa Insurance Group, a boutique insurance holding company which provides wholesale insurance solutions. Founded by John E. Anderson on the principle of “Do the Right Thing”, this principle and our values - Respect, Integrity, Community, Accountability, and Innovation - drive our team.
While headquartered in Calabasas, California, our employees moved to a permanent remote work model in 2020 in a continued effort to protect our workforce and provide our employees added flexibility. This decision was made after a companywide survey, enabling employees to share their voices and play a part in the decision.
Though there have been many changes at Topa throughout our 30+ years, our commitment to our stakeholders, including our employees, is unwavering.

We encourage our team to embody our value Community by offering paid volunteer time. Employees can use this time to volunteer at a non-profit of their choice. Previous volunteer days have been spent at the American Red Cross, A Purposeful Rescue, and Be The Match. Many of our employees use their paid volunteer time together during the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation’s (IICF) annual Week of Giving. Over the past few years, our team has volunteered with other industry professionals at Golden Heart Ranch, LA Food Bank, Tierra Del Sol, The Children’s Bureau and more. We are a proud supporter of IICF and enjoy attending the annual week giving and other events throughout the year in the Western Division.
Topa Insurance Company has put together a team of employees from different departments known as the “Fun Committee”. This committee plans events, activities, and contests for the whole company to get together and build community. Previous events have included annual holiday lunches, Halloween costume contests, and trivia games.
Many of our employees enjoy spending time outside of work with each other. A group of employees, across departments and levels, have trained for multiple Spartan Races. We celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and other life milestones together as a company and encourage team members to get to know one another.
