The entry level technician will begin their career working on our tire and lube rack.
This position includes performing oil changes, tire rotations, multi-point inspections, and other light repair and maintenance work. Ongoing training is expected throughout a technician’s time on the lube rack. If a technician displays a desire to progress, and is able to perform his responsibilities at an expert level they will be considered for promotion to apprentice technician or line technician.
Sponsorship programs are available to technicians that are either currently enrolled, or will be enrolled in an automotive technical school.
Westlie’s offers up to 100% tuition reimbursement and a tool allowance program to help aspiring technicians achieve their goals. During time that school is not is session Westlie’s offers part time employment. Upon graduation it is expected that the sponsored technician will be offered full-time employment as a line technician or an apprentice technician.
A Westlie’s apprentice should begin employment with experience as a technician.
Once employed with Westlie’s the apprentice will receive on the job training while working with factory certified technicians. Continuous training through Ford Motor Company will be paid for by Westlie’s with the goal of the apprentice becoming a certified technician in the skill category they are best suited for.
SkillBridge is a comprehensive 6-month training program for active-duty service members transitioning to civilian life.
Similar to the apprentice program, the service member will receive a combination of factory training and on the job training/mentoring which should result in a Ford certification and a job offer at the end of the program.
