Situated in the Pittsburgh suburb of North Braddock, the small dealership was driven by a man with anything-but-small-ideas. With Bob Cochran behind the wheel, Cochran Pontiac became Pittsburgh's leading Pontiac dealer in less than two years.
1968
Exhibiting characteristic foresight, Bob Cochran relocates his burgeoning business to Monroeville, which would soon undergo a commercial boom of its own.
1969
Cochran Pontiac's flagship franchise is joined by GMC, signaling the beginning of our dominance in the East Coast truck market.

In less than a decade, sales at Cochran Pontiac-GMC increase eightfold, propelling the company to national prominence.

Adds Cadillac's classic wreath and crest to its vehicle offerings

With continued record sales, Cochran Pontiac-GMC-Cadillac relocates to the 245,000 square-foot former Kaufmann's building in Monroeville and officially changes its name to #1 Cochran. That same year, Rob Cochran joins the business as Executive Vice President.

Shattering all-time sales records, #1 Cochran is named the #1 Pontiac Retail Sales Dealership in the World; yes, the WORLD.

The Cochran brand expands to the west side of Pittsburgh as our Robinson Township location opens featuring Pontiac, GMC, Isuzu and later that year, Buick.

Japan's newly launched luxo-line names Cochran Infiniti as Western Pennsylvania's exclusive Infiniti retailer.

With Bob Cochran ailing, Rob Cochran is named President and Chief Executive Officer. One year later, Mr. Cochran passes away.

Rob Cochran announces plans to construct a new Monroeville retail complex that will raise auto shopping and service to unparalleled levels. A 26-acre site just east of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Monroeville exit is selected for the new location.

#1 Cochran breaks ground on its groundbreaking General Motors facility. At the same time, the company donates five acres of the new property to Monroeville for preservation as green space.

GM awards #1 Cochran a second Buick franchise, enabling us to sell the famed nameplate in Monroeville as well as in Robinson.

The new #1 Cochran Hyundai SuperStore opens for business, offering tri-state area Hyundai buyers bigger selection, better services and lower prices.

The new #1 Cochran MegaCenter opens amid national media attention. Concurrent with the Grand Opening, #1 Cochran announces the addition of Saab to its MegaCenter lineup.

Cochran Infiniti opens its exclusive new sales and service facility at the intersection of Route 22 and McClure Road in Monroeville, approximately one mile east of the MegaCenter.

#1 Cochran celebrates its 50th Anniversary with a celebration in the original North Braddock facility. Rob Cochran donates $50,000 to the revitalization efforts in Braddock and North Braddock as part of the celebration.

#1 Cochran acquires Mignogna Collision in Greensburg, thereby expanding its Collision operations to six body shops. The acquisition marks #1 Cochran's first entry into the vibrant Greensburg market.

#1 Cochran opens the doors to its all-new Cranberry Collision Center in the high-growth Cranberry market, and also completes a major expansion of the Allegheny Valley Collision Center. In connection with these openings -- and in recognition of the growth of the collision business --#1 Cochran rolls out its trendy new Body by Cochran collision sub-brand.

#1 Cochran expands its regional footprint to Washington County, with the acquisition of its second Audi point — South Hills Audi. Under Cochran's ownership, the store is immediately renamed Audi Washington.
