At the end of WWII, and after losing his political job because of a party change, Joseph Dockery, Sr., entrepreneur at heart, invested his life savings to start his first dealership.
While pursuing Lincoln Mercury as his next venture, the manufacturer insisted Joe Sr. have a partner and suggested Peter Sullivan. His comfort level grew stronger knowing that Sullivan had married into the McDonald Family of Wall Street - also related by marriage to a little known entrepreneur named Henry Ford.
