Kathy and I were in the Semiconductor business with Kathy working for a major local semiconductor Sales Rep firm as their Distributor Sales Manager and myself as a Major Account Salesperson. In 2001 there was a big shift in manufacturing to outsourcing and the exodus of the entire industry to Mexico and off shore. Kath and I knew the inevitable was coming and we needed to reinvent ourselves. Kathy's brother happened to go through the same experience in 1999 and became Right at Home's very first franchise owner covering all of Lake County Illinois. So we looked at each other, and asked what are we going to do the rest of our lives? Kath said she wanted to do what her brother was doing, taking care of our Senior and Disabled Communities. She said that she had been blessed with so much in her life that she wanted to be able to give back for the blessings she and I have received. So Kathy and I opened the doors to Right at Home West Central Chicagoland in October of 2002.
Kath and I have achieved what we set out to do. It's a business of the Heart. We've been blessed with a caring staff, and a tremendous group of compassionate, reliable and trustworthy caregivers. Our goal as always is to serve the Senior and Disable Communities with the same care and compassion that their families have for their loved ones actually becoming a part of the family network. It's been a tremendous gift and honor to serve our families.
