What We Do

In 1989, Ed Rietman and Jeff Kolean started the business K&R. Ed and Jeff started out buying one wrecked truck at a time to rebuild it and then resell it. In 1991, they bought a building on the corner of Interchange Drive and M40 in Holland, MI. In 1994, Ed and Jeff had different visions so Ed bought out the business but the two remain friends down to this day.

Eventually Ed went on to expand K&R including the purchase of a local wrecker service, a fully automated truck wash and detail shop, a brand-new facility in Holland and a newly expanded service offering to offer rebuilds, service, body shop, paint booth, frame rack, alignment, sales and a new and used parts department. It didn’t stop there because Ed acquired an International Truck dealership in May 2012, which includes 3 locations in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Muskegon, MI doing business as West Michigan International. In October 2018, the International dealership in Lansing was acquired and now operating as West Michigan International and West Michigan International Mobile Mechanic was also acquired. Below, the timeline describes the growth over the past 30+ years.

K&R started out with two men buying, rebuilding and then reselling wrecked vehicles (one at a time) to growing to five locations in western Michigan, over 250 employees and full array of products and services. K&R Truck Sales and West Michigan International are full-service truck dealerships offering quality products, unsurpassed service and the best in customer service. We pride ourselves on our commitment to the community where we live by annually holding charity campaigns and giving back. K&R Truck Sales and West Michigan International are authorized dealers for International Truck and Mitsubishi Fuso. We offer class 3-8 straight semi trucks and tractors with flexible financing solutions. We can service and maintain all makes of vehicles from quick lubes to complete power train and engine rebuilds. We have three body shops with paint booths, complete tractor and trailer alignment and frame straightening. Our parts department carries an extensive inventory of all makes new and used parts. We offer full service leasing, rentals and dedicated maintenance programs through Idealease. Emergency break down, towing and recovery service is available 24-hours a day and 7 days a week. This growth was possible thanks to God, and the blessing of great employees and customers.
