Upon being hired at West Michigan International I started with simply cleaning and organizing our warehouse. The location manager began giving me more responsibilities as time progressed after seeing good clean work, such as pulling and shipping parts and inner branch transfers, loading and unloading trucks, and counting inventory. From there I went into delivering parts to customer locations and handling cores. As relationships built with customers and my continued interest to learn more, it was a good fit to begin training for working the parts counter. Once I had the appropriate training, I was cut loose to start answering parts calls and helping walk in customers. A couple years into working the parts counter I became very proficient and began also managing deliveries from our branch. With my eyes set on being a salesman, I thought I may be a good fit for an outside parts sales position especially given the amount of inside knowledge and exposure I had. Eventually an outside sales position opened internally, so I applied, and I got the job! A very good feeling working for a company and people that promote within! Now that I've been outside sales for a couple years, I've grown a good amount of face-to-face people skills along with an ever-growing amount of product knowledge, the Muskegon territory is constantly growing and that is a very good feeling to be successful while also continuing to build my resume to see what the future holds while growing with West Michigan International!
